Here's the cell phone/ipod sock. I found these beads in my supplies and decided to use them with the self striping sock yarn to make this little bag. The yarn is On-Line Cotton named summer. It was really easy and went quickly. I used Size 1 needles and cast on 42 stitches. It measures about 4 inches around and is about 5 inches long. I started in stockinette stitch to get the rolled edge and then did about 3/4 inch in 3x3 ribbing so it wouldn't gather too tightly. Then continuous knit stitch around and around. I added the beads every third stitch through the short color repeats and this is the finished result. I'm really happy with it and once again, I used supplies from my studio. I'm not sure if I'm going to add a drawstring through the top or I may use a lanyard hook that I have.
I'm still working on the Encore baby blanket and another knit tote bag. I haven't gotten back to dishcloths in a few weeks now. With the end of summer approaching, I think it's time to work on at least one of the sweaters that I have started. One's a short sleeved wool sweater, another is a beautiful cotton sweater, and the third is another shrug in denim colored cotton. Oh yes, and there's the shawl that I found last week and the shawl from the Superior mohair/silk combination. I really need to get moving. I also would like to go back to the gloves that I started two years ago.
I really need more time to knit but I've been busy making the row keeper bracelets for Patternworks. The new catalogue is coming out shortly. The holidays always bring increased orders.Labels: beaded knitting, cell phone sock
