This week's knit swatch is a lovely pattern called Carmarthen Ridge Stitch from a book entitled Reversible Knitting Stitches by Moira and Anna Ravenscroft. I'ts a simple 4 stitch repeat over 12 rows. For my sample, I cast on 22 stitches on U.S. Size 7 knitting needles using a worsted weight cotton yarn. I did 2 complete repeats of the pattern to get the 4 inch length.
Moira Ravenscroft and I met on Twitter.
Her book is a wonderful resource of 200 Double-Sided Stitch patterns along with projects using some of the stitch patterns.
I'll be swatching a lot more stitch patterns from this book and using those patterns in my upcoming designs. This is one of the best stitch pattern books I've seen in a long time. The photography is excellent and the instructions are both charted and written.
Be sure to check out her website Wyndlestraw Designs for the ebook and some lovely knitting patterns.
