I recently went to Dubuque, Iowa and made a stop in Galena, Illinois. Both areas were beautiful and had wonderful Main Street areas with lots of shops and restaurants.
Here's a glimpse of Galena
While in Galena, I discovered a terrific yarn shop called Fiber Wild! They had a lovely selection of yarns and patterns and kits. I came home with a Flared Wristlet Kit and their website address to order some other kits that I liked.
I found a Yarn shop in Dubuque, too. Yarn Soup is on Main Street and the shop has a wonderful cozy feel. I left there with Dream in Color Smooshy Sock Yarn in a blue called Beachfog.
When I was younger, I always looked for a souvenir to bring home from my vacations, now I bring home yarn for one special project. As I knit with the yarn and use my finished knitted item, I remember my adventure.
So now, I think I'll plan a few adventures around visits to yarn shops. Maybe a cross country yarn crawl.I'd love your suggestions for yarn shops to visit across the U.S.
